10 Year Capital Improvement Committee
2011-2020 CIP Plan (1.43mb pdf) Tipp City Council is seeking residents and local business owners to assist the City in reviewing the long-term capital improvement needs of the City and exploring funding alternatives meet those needs. On May 3rd of this year City Council adopted a Strategic Plan for the years 2010-2011. One of the goals of the plan is to "maintain and improve the City's capital needs through the acquisition and responsible use of resources". The first step in accomplishing this goal is to "determine the financial resources necessary to maintain and improve the City's capital needs" (a draft 10-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) detailing needed capital improvements over the next 10 years is attached for your review). Once that is accomplished, the next step is to "explore revenue options to meet the financial resource needs necessary to maintain and improve the City's capital needs." It is Council's desire to form a citizens' committee that would be charged with reviewing and evaluating the long-term capital improvement needs of the City and then assessing funding options to satisfy those needs. Another goal from Council's Strategic Plan is to enhance communication with the community. By empowering this citizens committee to make recommendations on how best to meet the long-term capital needs of the City, Council hopes to further its objective positive community engagement. Anyone interested in serving on this committee should contact City Manager Jon Crusey at cruseyj@tippcity.net or 667-8425 by September 13.
