Tipp City's customers may now view and pay their utility bill on-line

The Utility Billing Department at Tipp City has partnered with Official Payments Corporation so that payments can be made securely over the internet.  Official Payments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tier Technologies, Inc., is the leading provider of electronic payment solutions to government agencies.  They currently accept payments for the Internal Revenue Service, 26 state governments, the District of Columbia, and nearly 2,600 local government agencies.  Utility customers will be able to pay their bill by using an electronic check or MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit cards.  Official Payments Corp. charges users a convenience fee for any of the electronic payment services.  If you do not have access to the internet, there is now a computer located by the Utility billing window at the Tipp City Government Center for your use.  This computer is strictly setup to be used for Tipp City utility customers who wish to pay their utility bill using a credit card or an electronic check.  The computer is available for use Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm.

In order to pay your utility bill electronically, you must take the following steps:

  • Go to the City's website www.tippcityohio.gov .
  • Click on "City Government".
  • Click on "Departments".
  • Click on "Utility Billing".
  • Click on "View/Pay Your Utility Bill".
  • Click on "View Bill".
  • Click on "I Accept, Continue".
  • You will need to register as a user if you have not already done so.  To do this you will need to know your utility account number and service address (typed in all caps using * when appropriate just as the information appears on your utility bill).
  • Continue to complete the transaction as prompted.
  • Once you are registered and have generated your PIN you will be able to pay any amount on your utility bill.  Please carefully retain your assigned password noting capital and lower case lettering.

Once you click on "make a payment" you will leave the City's website and enter the Official Payments website.  On this screen you will then see the amount you entered to pay and the convenience fee that will be assessed.  At this point you can "accept" to make the payment or "decline" to cancel the payment.

The Utility Billing Department is pleased and excited to offer this convenience to our citizens.  If you have any questions about the credit card payment option, please call (937)667-8424.
