Neighborhood Parks

Each new residential plat is required to provide "green space" and/or a dedicated neighborhood park. The following is a list of those neighborhood parks and the equipment available in each.
  • Springhill Park in the Springhill development provides a gazebo with a bench, as well as another seating area, sidewalk and a number of new trees.  Located on Fern Drive.
  • Hampton Woods Park provides playground equipment and green space for casual recreational pursuits.  Located on Beechwood Drive.
  • Sycamore Woods Park is a new subdivision park currently under development.  Located on Brookmere.
  • Hathaway Park, an established neighborhood park, provides a number of choices of playground equipment for the neighborhood children and a meandering stream with benches.  Located on Hathaway Trail.
  • The Hyattsville Park is a small "pocket" park area adjacent to the Dairy Queen on the corner of Hyatt and Main.  Benches are available for seating.
  • Lesher Woods is a newly-acquired wooded area located near the High School adjacent to interstate 75.
  • Rosewood Creek Park is located at the corner of Peters and Kessler-Cowlesville, in the new Rosewood Creek subdivision.
  • Tweed Woods Park currently has playground equipment available and a large fenced-in open green space.  This fenced in area will be renovated and provide active open space use in the future.  Located on Sequoia Court.
  • The Woodlawn Park houses a park which includes playground equipment, picnic table, soccer goal, a baseball diamond, and a bike trail.  Access to this park is off of Woodlawn Drive and Fairlawn Circle.
  • Windmere Park provides a place for baseball, football, soccer and also includes playground equipment and a paved path.  Accessible from Greensward cul-de-sac and circle.
  • Canal Lock Park currently hosts a parking lot and bike trail segment with historical decorative lights next to Canal Lock #15.  The Railroad Depot is located at South 5th Street and Dow.

Please take advantage of the opportunity to utilize these parks.
