Restoration Board The Restoration and Architectural Board of Review consists of seven members who are residents of the city who have some relationship or interest in the Old Tippecanoe Historic District and in historic preservation. Those residents who are not from Tipp City are eligible for membership if they own property or a business within the district. The purpose of the Restoration Ordinance in the Tipp City Code is to stabilize and improve property values within the Historic District downtown through protection and preservation of the basic characteristics, to solicit architectural details of structures compatible with the district, and to encourage new buildings and developments be harmonious with the existing historic architecture. The Board reviews all plans for construction, alteration, repair, moving, and demolition of structures within the historic district. Property owners within the District are required to apply for a certificate of Appropriateness before beginning any construction, alteration, repair, moving, or demolition of any structure within the District.
