Tax filing date extended from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020. On March 25, 2020 the Ohio General Assembly adopted House Bill (HB) 197. This legislation, in part, extends the tax filing deadline for the State of Ohio income tax returns to match the federally extended tax filing date of July 15, 2020. The Ohio Revised Code provides that cities/villages within Ohio will follow the State’s tax filing date so this means the Tipp City local income tax filing date will be extended from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020. 2019 local income tax returns filed on or before July 15, 2020 will be considered timely filed and will not be subject to late filing penalties or interest. Also extended until July 15, 2020 are the 2020 first and second quarter estimated tax payments.
