Current Board Openings

The City of Tipp City is seeking interested citizens to serve on the following Boards:

Board of Tax Appeals
The Board meets as needed to hear appeals filed by citizens concerning tax assessments. Members are appointed by City Council for one-year terms expiring December 31st.

Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Appeals (BZA) shall hear, review, and decide on appeals of any administrative decision where it is alleged there is an error in any administrative order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Administrator, Planning Board, or Restoration Board, and such other duties as may be required or prescribed by the City Council.  BZA meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm. 

Parks Board
The purpose of the Parks Advisory Board shall be to promote the development of a comprehensive parks system in the city; make recommendations to City Council and staff on matters pertaining to the development and improvement of the city’s parks and recreational facilities; provide for citizen input on park matters; and guide planning efforts to ensure compliance with the Parks and Open Space Master Plan. Meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of odd months of the year.

Planning Board
The Planning Board shall have the roles and powers to: initiate, hear, review, and make recommendations to City Council related to amendments to the text of the zoning code; initiate, hear, review, and make recommendations to City Council related to amendments to the zoning map; hear, review, and make decisions on special uses in the respective zoning district; review and make decisions on certain site plan review applications as specified in §154.03(F); review and make decisions on certain alternative equivalent compliance applications as specified in §154.03(G); and hear, review, and decide on any proposed amendments to previously approved planned unit development plans and documents (See Section §154.04(E)(13)). Planning Board Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm.

Restoration and Architectural Board of Review
The Restoration Board shall have the roles and powers to: review and implement the Old Tippecanoe City Restoration and Architectural (RA) District Design Manual; hear, review, and make decisions on Certificates of Appropriateness  as specified in §154.03(E)(2); review and make decisions on certain alternative equivalent compliance applications as specified in §154.03(G); and act as an advisor to City Council and the Planning Board on issues related to the RA district or historic preservation in general. Restoration Board Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm.

Citizens who wish to be considered for any Board or Commission must complete an application and submit it to Janice Bates, Clerk of Council. Applications are available online at www.tippcityohio.gov or at the Government Center located at 260 South Garber Drive, Tipp City.
